Stuff you should know about Gozo that you might not like.If you are after clubbing, stay in Malta. Gozo is a quiet haven even in summer. Rural and untouched. Gozo is a great place for a peaceful (family or couples) holidays, with beautiful beaches,countryside and lovely restaurants. Gozo and Malta are very hot in the summer months and like most hot countries the flies and mosquitoes can be annoying, Is driving in Malta and Gozo as bad as they say? No its worse... but its great fun and renting a car is highly recommended. "My Gozo Villa" is situated in a very quite residential street and is as far from "commercial" as you can get. If you're after cosmopolitan chic, our advice is, go to Malta!!!

We're often asked, How do you pronounce Xaghra? "My Gozo Villa" is located in a very quite residential street in the beautiful village of Xaghra. (pronounced Sharra) Just 10 minutes drive from Victoria (pictured opposite) capital city of Gozo. Xaghra spreads across a plateau hilltop that descends towards fertile green valleys and the beautiful bays of Ramla, Ta’ l-Ghejjum and Marsalforn are all within a short drive. It boasts Gozo's most important archaeological sites, the Ggantija Temples, the oldest free standing buildings known to man, and the Brockdoff Circle, the underground tomb of the temple builders. The centre of the village has a pretty tree-lined square where you can sit in one of the pavement cafés or restaurants, enjoying the warmth of the Mediterranean sun or buy fresh local produce, which is sold in the square in the mornings. Gozo has virtually no crime and is a very safe holiday destination.

Ramla Bay

Ramla Bay, some say, the best sandy beach in Gozo. Known in Maltese as Ramla il-Hamra (Red Sands), this is the biggest sandy beach on Gozo - a curving bay of fiery-coloured sands flanked by twin rocky headlands and backed by dunes thick with tamarisk and bamboo. Ramla's size and natural beauty - as well as its soft sand and clear, shallow water make it a perfect beach to relax. It's only a 20 minute drive from "My Gozo Villa" !!! Swim and soak up the rays alongside a statue of the Virgin Mary, placed on the beach atop a chunky white plinth in 1881 in commemoration of a local shipwreck. The cliffs above the western corner of the beach shelter Calypso's Cave, one of many Maltese nooks identified as the spot where Odysseus spent seven years holed up with the temptress Calypso. If you make the climb, the view is fantastic!!!

That's because there's no place like home. At "My Gozo Villa" our bedrooms have been designed to replicate, as best we can, your own home comforts to ensure you have a great night sleep and wake up feeling refreshed. All 4 bedrooms have been furnished and the result is a stunning contemporary mix. Each bedroom has been individually designed using rich, bold colours. The rooms have bright, airy windows 2 of which offer a private terrace over looking the pool and distant sea views. 3 of the bedrooms have luxury bathrooms and have walk in showers which glisten and gleam with the latest fixtures and fittings. These rooms are perfect for a romantic break for two, family holidays or a friends get together. (The 4th bedroom is a single room with two single sofa beds)

Gozo Holiday living at its best.Its the large "zebrano" clad wall that strikes you first, or maybe the HD Plasma Screen mounted onto it. You'll walk through the living room sit on the large Italian leather sofa and think Wow are we really staying here for the next 2 weeks? Than you'll look outside through the glass doors and notice your own intimate private small swimming pool and let out a scream of sheer excitement and start to worry how quickly time flies when you're having fun. All of a sudden one of your children will notice a Playstation 3 console and you and your partner look at each other and think...great a distraction and we get the pool to ourselves. But then your child happens to switch on the TV and says, "Dad its got Sky Sports we can watch the match". You try to act uninterested but your wife can see straight through you !!!

The pool at "My Gozo Villa" is all yours. No sharing with the neighbours or the owners kids,The small swimming pool at "My Gozo Villa" is ideal for couples, families or families with very young children. The pool is small, cosy and intimate. Great for lovers who don't want to be apart, safe for nervous swimmers and comfortable for families with very young children as you can keep your eyes on them directly from the living/dining room. The pool deck area is wood with sunken spot lights which can be switched on/off from a remote control given to our guests (must be requested). The deck area is furnished with 4 luxury rattan loungers with cream deep seated cushions. We also have 4 giant big brother bean bags which are amazingly comfortable. The Pool is surrounded by a stunning stone wall which gives guests a good deal of privacy from the neighbouring Villa.

You have a clear view of the swimming pool so you can even keep an eye on the kids while you cook. 2 minutes walk from outside the front door is a lovely small supermarket which sells everything you will require. Should you want a full fridge on your arrival we can arrange this on your behalf. The Kitchen has everything you need including: Cooker (Gas) Microwave American style Fridge Freezer Kitchen Linen High Chair Large Glass Table with six dining chairs A full list of amenities is sent to our guest upon approval of a booking.
